Q. How do I donate my car?
A. Contrary to what some may believe, the car donation process is
very simple. This is especially true with GiveEz Charity Services handling your
car donation. Simply fill out on our
online
application (or call us at 605-484-5130). You may also designate a
charity that you wish to benefit from your vehicle donation. From there, we
schedule a free pick-up (usually within 24 hours) and handle all the paperwork.
Q. How does the tax deduction work?
A. Since the tax deduction varies based on the value of the vehicle, we
would like to refer you to
IRS Publication 4303 . It will fully explain the tax benefits for your
vehicle donation.
Q. If I donate my car, who will benefit? How do I choose a charity
to benefit from my car donation?
A. Your car donation will go to benefit the charity or non-profit
organization of your choice, or, you may choose one of the many local or
national charities we have listed on our site or one of you own chosing. (Just
be sure they are a 501(c)(3) charitable organization if you want the IRS tax
deduction).
Q. How much can I write off?
A. Tthe IRS Code pertaining to the taxpayer requirements for a vehicle
donation deduction are as follows:
. Claiming a deduction for $250.00 or more - a written
acknowledgement of the donation from a charitable organization is required.
. Claiming a deduction exceeding $500.00 - the maximum
deduction the taxpayer will be allowed under Code Sec. 170 (a) may not exceed
gross proceeds received by the donee organization from the sale of that
qualified vehicle. Therefore a written acknowledgement from the organization
must include the sale price of the vehicle.
Q. How much is my car worth?
A. Visit
Kelley Blue
Book or NADA Guides to get a
general idea of what your car may be worth. Please bear in mind that this is
only used as a general guideline and does not indicate the kind of tax deduction
you will receive.
Q. I'm concerned that very little of my donated cars proceeds will
end up in the hands of the selected charity, how can you assure me that's not
the case with GiveEz Charity Services?
A. While it is sad that many companies give as little as 15% to
Non-Profits and claim to be helping charities. We have an open book policy and
upon request will show you exactly where all the money goes and how much makes
it to the Charities. Depending on sale price of vehicle this can be as
high as 95% ( remember, the higher value or sale price of vehicle, the more that
goes to the charity)
Q. I live in Hewlett Wyoming. Can you pick up my car?
A. Yes, we serve the entire Western South Dakota region and surrounding
states. But, if value of the vehicle will not offset towing expenses, then
there is the possibility that we will not accept it. please fill out our form or
call to see if it is worth donating.

registration has long since expired, what do I need to do?

A. Yes, we are able to accept vehicles whether they run or not.
However, the condition of your vehicle may affect the value of your donation.
Q. Is there anything else I should know about the car donation
process?
A. IRS
Publication 4303 - "A Donor's Guide to CAR DONATIONS" is a must read before
you give your car to a charitable organization. Use this guide to check out the
charity, see if you will get a tax benefit for your donated vehicle, see how to
check the value of your vehicle and learn what your responsibilities are as a
donor to a charity.
Q.
Why don't you have an 800 number like most of the other donation services?
A. Well, that is simple, We feel anyone who is serious about
donating a call will not mind paying the .25 cents or so for a phone call.
Since all the proceeds go to charities having a 800 number just adds to our
expenses and is less money going to the charities. It also seems to keep
some of the people who just "want to get a junk vehicle" hauled out of their
driveway from calling which helps us keep costs down also. Remember, if a
vehicle sells for less than the towing bill, it costs us, but we never
pass that expense on to the charities.
